Since 1980s, the Nike sportswear has dominated the shoe manufacturing world with its unique yet foot comfort equipped shoes. Recently, the Nike sportswear has launched another fabulous shoe the Nike Zoom Kobe VI ’3-D’. This new low-cut light weight shoes has the visual of deadly Black Mamba snake. The shoe is a tribute to the NBA player Kobe Bryant. The upper of the shoe resembles with the skin of the snake. The term “Venomenon” is engraved on the shoe to highlight the deadly characteristics theme. The upper has anaglyph red and cyan 3D effect due to the textured upper. The shoe has hint of black color with the red and glass blue accent on the tongue, swoosh and heel counter. The shoe also has semi-translucent outsole with the 3D graphic insole.
The Nike Zoom Kobe VI ’3-D’ has superior looks with the great innovative foot comfort technology. The shoe has Flywire-mesh lamination at upper to provide better fit. Also, the polyurethane other shell of the shoe provides durability to the shoe. The shoe has three layer flywire packages for the greater breathability and support. The shoe has solid rubber outsole with the modified herringbone cross pattern to provide enhanced traction and durability. The shoe is incorporated with the dual-density insole for the greater comfort of foot during the jump. Moreover, the shoe is also incorporated with the zoom units at the forefoot and heel for the responsive and lightweight cushioning. The low-cut profile of the shoe provides multi-directional ability on the court.
Today Nike officially unveiled the ZKVI. Each year the Zoom Kobe line gets better and better, these are no exception.

Nike and Kobe Bryant today announced the debut of the Nike Zoom Kobe VI, a performance basketball shoe inspired by Bryant’s on-court alter ego, the Black Mamba. The design draws cues from the fearsome snake and incorporates key performance elements in a low-profile shoe that weighs just 10.6 ounces in a men’s US size 9.
“The Kobe VI is a very character driven shoe with the alter ego of the Black Mamba prominently featured,” said Bryant. “We continue to evolve the technology to make it a performance based shoe, but aesthetically you haven’t seen a shoe pop like this before. It brings to life what drives me.”
Nike Performance Footwear Creative Director Eric Avar led a team of creatives who worked with Bryant to bring the Black Mamba to life in the Nike Zoom Kobe VI. The shoe’s upper features unique polyurethane “islands” that emulate a snake’s skin and increase or decrease in size throughout the shoe to protect against abrasion and increase durability exactly where needed. To add a lighthearted spin and play off the reptile’s deadly venom, “Venomenon” is inscribed on the front outsole.
“The Black Mamba to Kobe means being one of the deadliest predators on the planet,” Avar said. “That’s his approach to every game – he’s very calculating and he’s very quick.”
A customized fit
Bryant challenged designers to build a shoe with amazing fit. Nike responded with an innovative dual-layer memory foam sockliner that conforms to the foot for a one-of-a-kind custom fit. A Phylon injected midsole adds cushioning for a more anatomically correct fit, and Nike Zoom units in the heel and forefoot provide additional comfort on court.
To emphasize Bryant’s lethal on-court play, Nike’s team of designers built off the success of the Nike Zoom Kobe V shoe’s lightweight, low-cut profile. This year’s shoe features reduced midsole thickness to keep the foot closer to the ground for improved stability and better court feel. The shoe fulfills Bryant’s desire for a true low-top, similar to that of a running shoe or soccer boot, with a low collar design.
The basketball shoe also employs Nike’s innovative Flywire technology in a new, three-layer construction. Inside the shoe a layer of mesh lines the foot, followed by a layer of Flywire and topped off by another layer of breathable mesh with polyurethane islands for abrasion resistance. This unique construction is lighter, more breathable and more conformable to the foot than previous Flywire designs in the Kobe series.
To ensure excellent traction, the Nike Zoom Kobe VI has a solid rubber outsole with a Black Mamba inspired modified herringbone pattern. Certain China editions of the shoe include XDR, or Extra Durable Rubber, for sustained durability against the rough surfaces of outdoor basketball courts.
Blending science and art
The Nike Zoom Kobe VI emerged directly from conversations between Nike’s team and Bryant to ensure the shoe best suited his singular style of play.
“I always talk about good design being a balance between science and art, and one of the great things about working with Kobe is he always grounds every conversation in that concept, starting with the science,” said Avar.

Last week we were able to show you the home version of the “Big Stage” Nike Zoom Kobe V, which, as we explained, highlights the accomplishments of the Black Mamba during the 2009-2010 NBA regular season. However, as the NBA Finals moves to Boston, Nike prepared the away version of this Nike Zoom Kobe V for what last night resulted in a winning effort. Let us know which version appeals to you more and why after the jump. But we still don’t have any release information regarding either version, so keep your fingers crossed.

Throughout the 2010 NBA Finals, Kobe Bryant and a number of his teammates will be wearing a special edition “Big Stage” colorway of the Black Mamba’s fifth Nike Zoom Kobe sneaker. Moreover, he’ll be wearing it in hopes that it’ll help him attain his fifth NBA championship ring. That said, Foot Locker deemed it an appropriate time to highlight the history behind the five Nike Zoom Kobe shoes for those of you interested. Last night, the 2010 NBA Finals kicked off with a star-studded casting list both on and off the court. We knew before the game last night that the Nike Zoom Kobe V “Big Stage” would be making an appearance on the feet of Kobe Bryant. What we didn’t know was that Rasheed Wallace would try to steal the sneaker show with some help from a predominantly green patent leather Nike Air Force 1 high that sports the Rasheed silhouette in black towards the heel of the shoe. Take a look at some action shots of both players and let us know which pair you’d most want to get your hands on.

For the 2010 mid-season NBA classic, Nike prepared a special edition Nike Zoom Kobe V for the All-Star to where. Now it’s only fitting that Nike do the same following the conclusion of a great NBA regular season and just before the NBA Finals kicks off. Pictured here, this Nike Zoom Kobe V comes in a white/gold colorway with a bunch of lasered detailing paying homage to a number of Kobe’s accomplishments during the 2010 NBA regular season. Among those numbers are his 391 rebounds, 365 assists, 113 steals, the 25,207th point he broke the all-time Lakers scoring record with, and the 25,970 points he ended up with at the end of the regular season. Take a look, and start praying now if you want a shot at copping these.

It was all the way back in June of 2009 that we brought you a sneak peek at a production sample pair of a Nike Hyperdunk that drew inspiration from the Aston Martin commercial where Kobe Bryant appears to have jumped straight up into the air in order to evade an Aston Martin speeding directly towards him. We’ve gotten better glimpses of that shoe and an accompanying Nike Zoom Kobe V since then, but now we have some concrete release information. This pack of Nike basketball sneakers will release from the House of Hoops location in Los Angeles, California beginning this Friday, May 14th in VERY limited numbers. PLAN AHEAD, and good luck!
