Last night the Chicago Bulls disassembled the Boston Celtics in a 97-81 victory, proving the new-look Bulls to be one of the upcoming Eastern powerhouses in the league.
During halftime, Chicago unveiled its latest bronze masterpiece in front of the sold out crowd commemorating the retried NBA Hall of Famer’s career as a Bull. The dynamic duo that was Jordan and Pippen brought two three peat championship runs to the Windy City and formed one of the most entertaining dynasties to have ever grace the hardwood.
Scottie has had numerous accomplishments during his NBA tenure; 2 Olympic Gold Medals, 6 NBA Championships, 7 All-Star Game appearances, named one of the 50 greatest players of all time in ‘96, a retired jersey number, inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame last year & ranked 2nd in NBA history with 208 Playoff appearances just to name a few.
Now that Scottie has finally gotten his shine on, literally, let’s take a look back at his signature line (albeit short lived signature line) under the Nike umbrella. Besides Penny’s signature, could the Nike Air Pippen line be one of the best short lived signature series of all time?
Share your thoughts with us in the comments section & congratulations to Scottie Pippen for a job well done.

Yesterday, we brought you a look at a Hollywood NBA All Star Game 2011 pack collaborated on by Undefeated and Nike. Today, we show you the “Orange County” results of the same pairing. Pictured here is the Nike Air Force 1 low in a white base (like the Hollywood alternative) with blue and orange red accents. Then, there are also two Nike Zoom Hyperfuse lows- one with the orange red color we see on the Air Force 1 low as a base, and the other with the blue we see on the Air Force 1 low as a base. Take a closer look after the jump, and know that this collection will release this coming Friday, February 11 from the Undefeated shop in Los Angeles. Do you favor the “Hollywood” or “Orange County” pack in this case?

The Foamposite One ‘Royal’ are now available in a full size run over at online retailer ANYCOnline. Free ground shipping is also available for your purchase if interested.
We already know 2011 is a huge year for Foam-Heads. Two Foamposite Pro’s will hit retail in some amazing new colorways.
The Foamposite Pro ‘Electric Blue’ will drop in July at a retail price of $190. Another notable release will be the ‘Dark Pine’ Foam Pro in September, retail is also $190.
Note the prices listed under the product color code… $190/$100.70. This is the retail price for consumers versus the price retailers pay to have them in stock. Nearly a $90 profit for retailers on each pair makes you wonder how much the sneakers actually cost to produce… Just something that caught my attention.

Over the last couple of years, we’ve come across such Nike PEs designed for Chicago Bulls swingman Luol Deng as the Huarache 2010 and the Air Max A Lot hybrid. Today we bring you a look at said superstar’s “home” white/black-red colorway of the Nike Air Max Hyped PE in that unforgettable and timeless colorway that his Airness made so famous (at least on sneakers). The Nike Air Max Hyped boasts one of the greatest shock absorption designs yet from Nike Basketball- now let’s see which of the PEs we’ve gotten glimpses of before might actually make it to store shelves, if any.

Of course, very few will argue against the opinion that the “cool grey” Air Jordan XI was the biggest retro release of 2010, or that the “white cement” Air Jordan III will be the biggest one of 2011. However, other retro basketball sneakers have released and are yet to release that will definitely bring some older sneakerheads back a couple of years or give some new sneakerheads a taste of history. One such retro drop is the Nike Air PR1 Air Pressure retro pictured here, which has recently popped up at select online Nike retailers in this OG colorway. How many of you think these are worth hunting down?

Today Nike officially unveiled the ZKVI. Each year the Zoom Kobe line gets better and better, these are no exception.
Hit the jump to find out everything you need to know about the performance specs.
Nike and Kobe Bryant today announced the debut of the Nike Zoom Kobe VI, a performance basketball shoe inspired by Bryant’s on-court alter ego, the Black Mamba. The design draws cues from the fearsome snake and incorporates key performance elements in a low-profile shoe that weighs just 10.6 ounces in a men’s US size 9.
“The Kobe VI is a very character driven shoe with the alter ego of the Black Mamba prominently featured,” said Bryant. “We continue to evolve the technology to make it a performance based shoe, but aesthetically you haven’t seen a shoe pop like this before. It brings to life what drives me.”
Nike Performance Footwear Creative Director Eric Avar led a team of creatives who worked with Bryant to bring the Black Mamba to life in the Nike Zoom Kobe VI. The shoe’s upper features unique polyurethane “islands” that emulate a snake’s skin and increase or decrease in size throughout the shoe to protect against abrasion and increase durability exactly where needed. To add a lighthearted spin and play off the reptile’s deadly venom, “Venomenon” is inscribed on the front outsole.
“The Black Mamba to Kobe means being one of the deadliest predators on the planet,” Avar said. “That’s his approach to every game – he’s very calculating and he’s very quick.”
A customized fit
Bryant challenged designers to build a shoe with amazing fit. Nike responded with an innovative dual-layer memory foam sockliner that conforms to the foot for a one-of-a-kind custom fit. A Phylon injected midsole adds cushioning for a more anatomically correct fit, and Nike Zoom units in the heel and forefoot provide additional comfort on court.
To emphasize Bryant’s lethal on-court play, Nike’s team of designers built off the success of the Nike Zoom Kobe V shoe’s lightweight, low-cut profile. This year’s shoe features reduced midsole thickness to keep the foot closer to the ground for improved stability and better court feel. The shoe fulfills Bryant’s desire for a true low-top, similar to that of a running shoe or soccer boot, with a low collar design.
The basketball shoe also employs Nike’s innovative Flywire technology in a new, three-layer construction. Inside the shoe a layer of mesh lines the foot, followed by a layer of Flywire and topped off by another layer of breathable mesh with polyurethane islands for abrasion resistance. This unique construction is lighter, more breathable and more conformable to the foot than previous Flywire designs in the Kobe series.
To ensure excellent traction, the Nike Zoom Kobe VI has a solid rubber outsole with a Black Mamba inspired modified herringbone pattern. Certain China editions of the shoe include XDR, or Extra Durable Rubber, for sustained durability against the rough surfaces of outdoor basketball courts.
Blending science and art
The Nike Zoom Kobe VI emerged directly from conversations between Nike’s team and Bryant to ensure the shoe best suited his singular style of play.
“I always talk about good design being a balance between science and art, and one of the great things about working with Kobe is he always grounds every conversation in that concept, starting with the science,” said Avar.
The Nike Zoom Kobe VI launches in retail stores and online at nikestore.com on December 26, 2010. NIKEiD will launch an exclusive sneak preview of the Nike Zoom Kobe VI iD available to Facebook Fans on December 10 at facebook.com/nikeid. Customized versions will be available for sale on December 24 at NIKEiD.com.

Back in August we presented the news that the Nike Sky Force 88 would be retroed and released for the Spring of 2011. While many of you may have either missed the news or forgotten it, this is more than a reminder. The white/red Nike Sky Force 88 that will retro in this OG colorway is now close enough to seeing an actual release that some Nike retailers are making it available for pre-order. So if you’re such a big fan that you can’t wait to make sure you’ve gotten your hands on at least one pair, this might be the move for you.

This past week the Miami Heats and King James took on his former team the Cleveland Cavs, James was seen rocking the Nike Air Max LeBron 8 ‘Triple Black’ but his pair had a white swoosh instead. The ‘Triple Black’ LeBron 8 was first seen a couple months back, and created quite a buzz. Dubbed ‘Triple Black’ due to the fact that the entire shoe is dress in all black, other wised “murdered out”. The Nike Air Max LeBron 8 has already been seen on eBay, and will hit Nike retailers this saturday, December 11th. Continue on after the jump for more shots of the shoe, and keep it locked with Sneakerfiles for the latest.

Last year’s Nike Zoom Kobe V “Chaos” matched the Joker’s outfit to a T in terms of the colors used. This year’s “Chaos” Kobe Nike release is different. The Nike Zoom Kobe VI “Chaos,” pictured here, consists primarily of a grey snakeskin shell across the upper. Purple accents can be seen by way of the Nike swoosh, ankle lining and tongue lining. Lastly, white covers the tongue and midsole, while red is seen on the Black Mamba logo that is found on the tongue and under the sole. Now that these shots have surfaced, expect these to reach retailers relatively soon. In the meanwhile, let us know if you like the Nike Zoom Kobe VI “Chaos” or V “Chaos” better.

A new colorway of the Nike Air Go LWP has popped up at HOH locations.
This pair pays tribute to a man who undoubtedly had the best crossover in NBA history, Tim Hardaway. Done up in throwback 90’s Warriors fashion, which is ironically the team’s uniform color once again. Here is hoping we will get the chance to see Stephen Curry wear these sometime this season.

Here is a nice look at the KD3 ‘Home’ colorway.
A white synthetic base on the upper with black details such as the laces, branding and outsole make this pair pretty simple. Add in some OCK orange to the inner liner and Swoosh border and now you have yourself a clean colorway ready for the hardwood.
Take a look after the jump and let us know what you think.

Just yesterday we got out first look at a green Nike Zoom Kobe VI nicknamed by some the “Grinch” and by others as simply the “Christmas” pair. Now we’ve come across some more high-quality images of this upcoming Nike Basketball release. It is likely that these will release around the time of the NBA’s now annual “Christmas day double header,” which Kobe Bryant has often been a part of. Let us know how you feel about this colorway after taking this second look at it.

Before the Nike Zoom KDIII even hits retail, we would like to share with you a sample of the KD4.
Most of us already know that Nike begins the design process shortly after finalizing the newest signature product; it’s been this way for years. The KDIII will be a lower cut sneaker, while the KD4 will be slightly raised but not quite to a full on mid top. A great mixture of materials from leather to the new ‘Fuse’ technology are applied to KD’s kicks keeping it up to date with the newest performance aspects. Lastly, they are bringing the strap back for another go around, this time utilizing a diagonal midfoot strap to help keep the heel in place perfectly.
Hit the jump for more images and share your thoughts on the KD4.
