When we first reported on the Nike Air Max Uptempo 97 ‘Urban Federation’ all we had was a sample image. Today we have clear images of the sneakers as well as the t-shirt to match.
The final product is much different than the first image we all had seen. The upper features entire red upper and red accents with a black midsole, tongue and sock liner. Again Nike decided to top it all off with a clear outsole with a foggy hue to it.
These will release soon as a QS at select Nike retailers.

As most of you either have seen or read, Michael Jordan was inducted into Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on September 11, 2009. The six-time NBA Champion has not only played a huge role in the development of the National Basketball Association (NBA), but has also highly influenced another key part of our lives…sneakers. Jordan Brand is, without a doubt, considered to be one of the greatest sneaker brands ever created. Though Air Jordans were not too popular when the original black and red sneakers released back in 1985, today, Air Jordans are seen as some of the best sneakers available on the market. A key aspect of the success behind Air Jordans is the unique inspiration behind each individual model, which accurately displays the time and effort put into each sneaker. In tribute to Michael Jordan’s recent induction to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, we ask you to please leave a comment with your selection of the top ten Air Jordans of all time.

The image of what is rumored to be called the Air Jordan Alpha 1 has surfaced. We were told that the Jordan Alpha 1 series will initially hit retailers in two colorways, beginning in Spring, 2010. The colorway of the Size 9 sample (pictured) is reminiscent of the Original Air Jordan I (1) White-Black-Red scheme, which is a grail Jordan to many collectors. To those who cannot afford to pay thousands for a vintage Air Jordan 1 from 1985 (or a 1994 retro model), this colorway of the Jordan Alpha 1 may possibly fill a void. Via Shoe York

Those who are fortunate enough to own the Infrared Air Jordan 6 (VI) know how fresh it is to lace up their pair. Images of the 2010 ‘Infrareds’ have just surfaced, and most will be surprised at how clean the sneakers look. The shoes are highlighted by Chicago Bulls colors, and most clearly, an icey sole. The Infrared Jordan release date is still unknown, but rumored to be in 2010. The Air Jordan Spacejam release has been marked on most calendars for the holiday season, there is a chance that the Infrared 6 will drop in time for the 2009 holiday season as well. Brand Jordan has a tendency to release Black/Red colorways close to Christmas; with the most recent example being the 2008 Air Jordan 11/12 countdown pack, which originally scheduled to release after the holiday. At a presentation that took place during Nike’s grassroots activities in Chicago, Jeff Zimmerman gave James a uniquely designed pair of Nike Air Max LeBron VII (7) shoes.
A native of Chicago, Zimmermann has achieved national and international recognition for his large-scale murals featuring painted images of contemporary pop-culture and sensitively rendered portraits. Zimmermann’s pop-culture references range from innocuous consumer products such as beer cans, hard candy rings, and high heeled shoes, to more symbolically-charged images like portraits of political figures. The artist’s background as a graphic designer explains his shrewd use of flashy and graphic forms.
Zimmerman was inspired by James’ achievements on and off the court. He wanted the shoes to express LeBron’s positive energy through color and motion. To represent Chicago, Zimmerman wove in the Chicago city flag. For a bit of levity, Zimmerman added “a Chicago-style hot dog symbolizing the fun that amateurs have trying to be a ‘hot dog’ on the court.” He included a worn-in Nike swoosh to represent the idea that “experience, plus practice and hard work, make us who we are. “
