With a huge amount of attention surrounding the Concepts x Nike SB Blue Lobster Dunk, we now have a look at another blue-based Dunk Low from the folks over at Nike SB. This pair hosts a varsity blue upper with pink and ice accents. A couple key components of this sneaker include the tonal varsity blue base, perforated midpanel, and the leather and suede combination on the upper. Overall, this pair yields a clean and fresh colorway of the classic Nike Dunk Low silhouette. Unfortunately, there is no information regarding when these will release, so be sure to stay tuned for updates.

The Nike Air Trainer 1 was redesigned this year to accommodate the latest technological advances, and Nike is now giving us a chance to purchase the old and the new in one package. Dubbed the Nike Air Trainer 1 Legacy Package, this pack will be composed of two sneakers: the OG Air Trainer 1 and the updated Air Trainer 1. Both sneakers come in a classic chlorophyll colorway which hosts a white base with grey, black, and green accents. Though Nike’s SB line is far more popular than adidas Skateboarding, the “Three Stripes” will be releasing four quality models this summer. As part of their Summer ‘09 collection, adidas will be dropping one colorway of the Busenitz, two pairs of the Ciero, and one style of the Campus. The Busenitz features a black/gold colorway, while the Ciero comes in gold/navy and grey/white, and the Campus is featured in blue/white. All four sneakers host suede on the upper and a white mid-sole. Be on the lookout for all four models this summer.

The Nike KD1 has already released in a plethora of colorways, and we now have a look at Kevin Durant’s second signature. The KD2 hosts a full leather upper with a mesh tongue to increase breathability, a full Zoom sole to provide comfort, and a forefoot strap to increase support. The KD2 will release in three colorways next Spring: black/blue-orange, white/orange-black, and white/blue. Expect to see the KD2 (II) at your local Nike retailers in the Spring of 2010.

Eddie Van Halen Sues Nike for Copyright Infringement

Eddie Van Halen is suing Nike for copyright infringement. What is this if not the clash of the giants? Surely Eddie is the king of his own mad, unrestrained type of performance art. And Nike is the master of footwear that entrances extraterrestrials. From such a battle, only the most unexpected results would emerge, we suspect.

But that’s not all. Eddie Van Halen is reported to be cavorting with three-horned satyrs of Pan from Greek fairy tales to bring down the Nike headquarters. It is sad that Eddie will pay them his signature guitar filled wine and accompanied a few courtesans in exchange for their services.

The effort is futile, of course. But we commend is courage and determination.

Here’s another version from Air Jordan that lives up to the expectations of the sneaker lover community. Creating a retro is not an easy business. Nike fans hold the company to very high standards when it comes to the creation of retros, and of course, living up to those standards is a difficult and ardous task…except when you are a master designer who creates masterpieces with the speed of lightning.

We know that our great friends at Nike are masters of their art, and we know that they deserve immense amounts of praise and adulation for their great successes. But no amount of praise will do justice to the magnificence if the 2009 Retro of the Air Jordan III.

Evolved Footwear was asked by a nurse friend to customize a pair of Nike Cortez with a funky hospital theme. The designer obliged by interpreting hospital staples like bandages and stethoscopes in an artsy way. You can find out more about the New Nurse Nike Cortez at Evolved Footwear’s website linked here.

The New Nurse Nike Cortez has a pink base that is the client’s favorite color. Evolved Footwear added a heart bandage on the left middle panel and a smiling bandage on the left toe. He also painted bandages with zebra and tie dye designs on the right toe to balance the two shoes.

My favorite elements of the New Nurse Nike Cortez were the oversized stethoscope on the left toe and the Red Cross symbol on the left heel. His design was completed with a syringe on the right exterior and a thermometer on the right interior. Evolved Footwear put his stamp on these customs with the red heart and heart beat line on the right heel. We may not like going to the doctor but Evolved Footwear made the tools of the medical trade seem friendlier on the New Nurse Nike Cortez.

Yesterday, we detailed the horrific and utterly shameless looting of Los Angeles based consignment store the Holy Grail and the manager’s guarded optimism of a potential reopen and recovery of goods. Today, HG’s owner Richard Torres maintained that insurance would cover the estimated value of the stolen kicks, accessories and apparel. Torres and his staff have already begun rebuilding the store’s broken down facade and would appreciate any spiritual support, donation of time, or value of service. Eddie Van Halen recently filed a lawsuit against Nike, accusing the world-known brand for using the copyrighted striped pattern Van Halen made famous on his “Frankenstein” guitar without permission. The aforementioned striped pattern was used on the mid-sole of the pictured Nike Dunk Low sneakers. A spokeswoman from Nike INC. states that “Nike has not referenced the ‘Van Halen’ name or image as part of any marketing campaign or promotional material associated with the shoe,” while Van Halen believes that Nike has done “irreparable harm and damage.” Van Halen wants Nike to recall all Nike Dunk Lows with this colorway as well as give up all profits made from the sneaker. Another key aspect of this lawsuit is the fact that Van Halen released their own signature sneaker not too long ago with the same exact pattern on the entire sneaker. Earlier this year, we previewed the Nike Air Maxim 1, and we are now receiving word that Nike’s newest Air Max model has begun to arrive at retailers. The Air Maxim 1 takes the silhouette of the Air Max 1 and combines it with Flywire technology in order to give the classic sneaker a technological twist. This pair of the Air Maxim 1 hosts a white upper with varsity red accents seen on the inner lining, swoosh, and mudguard, while black accents are visible via the out-sole and tongue tag.
