Nike Air Pegasus 89 Pink/Black

The latest Nike Air Pegasus 89 pink/black colorway will drop into stores on April 1. 21 Mercer Nike Sportswear and other Nike Sportswear retailers will carry this shoe. You can also check the Nike website.

The toe box is white. The surrounding mudguard is grey and it extends to form part of the shoe lace panelling. The first underlying layer of the lace panel is black in color. The shoe lace is bright pink. The inner lining of the shoe is the same color. The double effect of a coordinated lace and lining is good. The label at the tip of the tongue said Nike in black letters. It adheres to the color scheme of black and pink. The midsection of the shoe has an extremely large Nike swoosh. It covers a great deal of the white midsection. The midsole is white and makes a good contrast with the pink outsole. There is a special emphasis on the toe with an extra peach colored pad.

The colors make this shoe look like a women’s shoe. However, the black and white color scheme is also suitable for a wide variety of uses. Some guys may like to try out this fresh colorway too. (Image)

Poison Adidas Stan Smith 2

Hziii Customizations used the mixture of ink colors as inspiration when creating the Poison Adidas Stan Smith 2. The Poison Adidas Stan Smith 2 can also be seen from a darker perspective with the black ink slowly but surely killing or “poisoning” the mint ink. The designer posted the Poison Adidas Stan Smith 2s at the Hziii Customizations Customsnkr.com blog linked here.

The exterior side of both shoes shows the mint color cutting across the black expanse in a thin line. If you imagine dropping some light ink into a dark fluid, you can see what a great job Hziii did with this design. The brush strokes that cut across the black paint may look haphazard but the image moves smoothly as the eye drifts to the toe.

Hziii used a more elaborate design on the interior side of the Poison Adidas Stan Smith 2. We see a broader band of mint green just behind the middle panel, surrounded on both sides by black paint. If you are interested in other work by Hziii Customizations, feel free to check out the designer’s work at the Facebook page linked here.

Release Reminder: Air Jordan Championship Pack - Phoenix Suns
As we have all come to know by know, Jordan Brand has and will continue to release Championship Packs honoring each of Micheal Jordan’s six championship rings. This time, the focus is on the 1993 NBA Finals when MJ and his Chicago Bulls defeated the Phoenix Suns en route to Jordan’s third championship. Jordan Brand will be paying homage to that ‘92-’93 season by releasing a pair of the Air Jordan Six Rings and two pairs of Air Jordan I (1) Low Phats inspired by the jerseys of the Suns. The Six Rings features a white leather base with orange lasering, an orange midsole, and purple accents. The first AJ1 Low Phat is nicknamed the “home” colorway and has a white base accented by a silver swoosh and an orange midsole. The final Air Jordan 1 Low Phat hosts a black base with purple stitching, an orange midsole, and a white swoosh. All three sneakers are set to drop tomorrow, February 28, 2009.

Converse Rivalry Pack Weapon Low + High Release

converse-rivalry-pack-1

Here’s a look at a limited edition Converse Rivalry Pack, releasing this Saturday at KICKS/HI, created by Converse to commemorate the legendary ’80s rivalry between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers, and specifically between the teams’ respective stars Larry Bird and Magic Johnson, who were both of the Converse camp. Both pairs in the pack are composed of predominantly black uppers and white midsoles; the low pair features Lakers’ colorways, while the high pair exhibits the Celtics’ iconic white and green.

Nike Womens Air Max 90 Black/Pink-White

This Nike Women’s Air Max 90 is the latest release. Nike has used black, a staple color, and included pink, which is the all time favourite. Please look for this shoe in the Nike website.

The shoe upper is black and has grey, white and pink accents. There is no separate mudguard as the leather forms the main body of the shoe. The front portion of the shoe is in dense mesh. The shoe lace region is in grey leather with pin strips. The grey shoe lace looks well blended into the color scheme of the shoe.

The ankle and heel use a nice pattern of geometric shapes which have a sprinkle of pink snow flakes. There are extra black colored panels running along the longitudinal side of the shoe. The pink Nike swoosh is coupled by the pink “Air Max” to create a symmetry. The midsole has a transparent window and we can see pink colored studs inside. The thick air cushion of the Air Max will provide good support for the user.

The outsole has a few patterns of treads and studs. These have a good balance of functional use and aesthetics. I like this design for all its features. (Images)

BluStream Nike Air Max

NuBux was given complete creative freedom when asked by his client to customize some Air Maxes. The designer decided to let the colors talk instead of plastering excessive design elements on a nice pair of sneakers. The result is the BluStream Nike Air Max, which was unveiled to the public at the NuBux Customsnkr.com blog linked here.

NuBux mixed the colors well when customizing these sneakers, opting for an unusual combination of hues rather than an old standby. The light blue of the Nike swoosh and the first eyelet pops off the shoe. While the brief flash of yellow at the top eyelet may seem out of place, it is yet another accent in a custom that thrives on small touches.

The underlying color throughout the BluStream Nike Air Max is gray though NuBux got creative with his base color. We see a progression from blue to dark gray and finally light gray as the eye moves up from the midsole. NuBux did a great job with the BluStream Air Maxes by keeping them simple and focusing on his craft rather than going nuts with an open mandate from his client.

Nike Womens Outbreak High “Pucci Pack”

The Nike Women’s Outbreak High “Pucci Pack” edition is going to drop soon. More information on these will be released later by the Nike website.

The left side and right side of each shoe looks different. The inward facing side has more of the colorful pattern than the outward facing side. The outer surface has a large section in white, with large “Nike” letters printed in light blue on its upper. The mudguard has vertical strips and corrugations. The toe box has a generous portion of this mudguard. There is a fancy, gold colored, bow shaped shoe lock. The white shoe lace blends in with the rest of the shoe. The midsole and outsole are grey and blends well together. There are light lime green inserts into the sole.

The graphic pattern on the shoe upper is hard to describe. The art is kind of abstract. The colors are in pastels, which are favorites of women. The tongue uses the same graphic material as the shoe upper. The Nike Tag had to be in a dull, contrasting color.

The back of the heel has a segment in shiny, stain like material. This is definitely a shoe for female Nike fans. (Images)

United Arrows x New Balance

KanYe West was spotted during Fashion Week in London wearing what some thought was a collaboration shoe between Mr. West and New Balance for a KanYe West Edition New Balance 998. Upon further investigation they turned out to be a limited edition New Balance 997.5. The shoes stem from a collaboration between New Balance and United Arrows, a Japan based high-fashion store. More info and pics after the jump.

The distribution of the shoe in the U.S. was very limited, but those who are eager to get a pair can get it here for about $183. Via SoleBlvd.

Nike Air Trainer III LE – grey/black/yellow

This is the new Nike Air Trainer III LE. It will be released by Nike Sportswear in early April 2009. The colorway is grey, with black and yellow accents. The toe box and midsection have regular perforations. The mudguard around the toe box is made of exotic leather. The color of this leather is between brown and grey and blends in well.

The shoe lace panel has yellow accents in the Nike labelling at the start and end of the shoe lace region. The grey colored shoe lace is good as it coordinates with the color scheme. The midsection and heel are covered by the black colored frame. The reinforcing structure is also used in the midsole, toe’s outsole and heel’s outsole. The midsole has splashes of black and yellow on the grey background. A translucent yellow window allows a little peek into the air cushion of the sole.

The inner lining is black and blends with the collar at the ankle. The heel is in solid grey leather. The outsole is designed to show a set of yellow windows on the black frames. The yellow logo of Nike speaks of great pride in the design of the shoe. (Image)

Hypethetic was asked by Adidas to customize a pair of its shoes for an event called “Adidas 60 Years of Stars and Stripes.” The designer used a pair of white/green Adidas Pro Models to get the job done. By looking at the photos below and at Hypethetic’s Customsnkr.com blog linked here, you would never know that this great design came from such humble beginnings.

These Pro Models were converted into a celebration of Adidas advertisements throughout the years. Hypethetic integrated the images of Adidas models and fans into the shoe including a remarkable melding of the blue tri-stripes with ad images. Since Adidas has spent 60 years building its image, it is appropriate that Hypethetic focused on advertising in celebrating the company’s achievements.

My favorite part of the Stars and Stripes Pro Models is the stitched “60 Years” featured on the tongue. Hypethetic stitched “60 Years” but let the blue background step forward in the shape of the Adidas logo inside of the zero. I am sure that these customs were a hit considering Hypethetic’s design skills as well as the shoe’s appropriate theme for the event.

On Court: Air Jordan 2009 (2K9) - Ray Allen Player Exclusive (PE)
Last night, Ray Allen and the Boston Celtics defeated the Denver Nuggets by 38 points in the Pepsi Center. During the game, Allen broke out a player exclusive colorway of Jordan Brand’s newest signature sneaker, the Air Jordan 2009 (2K9). Though the 2K9 has not been performing upto expectations sales wise, we are under the impression that it performed well for Sugar Ray considering he had 26 points including 6 three pointers while rocking the sneaker. Allen’s PE features a black patent leather base accented by Celtics’ green seen on the ankle and on the outsole. There is currently no information indicating that this pair will drop in the future, so for now just check out the pictures after the ‘jump.’

Air Jordan VII (7) Retro - Rip Hamilton Wizards Player Exclusive (PE)

Back in the 2001-2002 NBA season, Richard “Rip” Hamilton was the teammate of one of the greatest players to ever step on the courts, Michael Jordan. MJ did not only score points and grab rebounds, but he also built a friendship with the aformentioned current Team Jordan member, Rip Hamilton. The Air Jordan VII (7) Retro seen above was made exclusively for Hamilton and it features a white upper with blue, old gold, and grey accents reminiscent of the Washington Wizards’ jerseys. This pair is one of Rip’s first Air Jordan Player Exclusives, and now it is evident that his relationship with Jordan Brand has been quite beneficial for both parties. As previously mentioned, this sneaker is a player exclusive and will not release to the public.

Nike Zoom Flight Club - Possible Tony Parker Signature Sneaker

The Nike Zoom Flight Club was reported as the upcoming signature sneaker of San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker, but a new colorway looks more suited for another Western Conference team, the Utah Jazz. Parker’s logos and signature graphics appeared on the Zoom Flight Club from the “Playoff Pack”, but there is no back story yet on the model pictured above. Featured is a combination of grey, white, light blue and a darker shade of blue which also consists of a splatter effect at the midsole. Whatever the case may be, the Zoom Flight Club will be sold in stores starting April 1st retailing at $100. Check with your local Nike basketballretailer and House of Hoops for availability.
