Nike Footscape 2009 – neon orange & yellow colorways

Source of image: here.

Nike rings in the new year with some nice designs. This Nike Footscape collection is due for sale in 2009. Nike was pleased with the Footscape Wovens in 2008 so they have decided to continue some more Woven shoes for 2009. Nike and Hiroshi Fujiwara created these two latest wovens. One colorway is in neon yellow, while the other is in neon orange. The prices and details may become available later at the Nike retailers.

The neon orange looks more striking. The white toe box bears the Nike swoosh. The shoe lace panel has been laid a little to the side of the shoe, and is curved. The mesh tongue in a complimentary orange is perfect for displaying one of the traditional lacing patterns used in Nike shoes. The lace winds through the braces like a snake. The black braces are color coordinated with the panel at the back of the heel. The Nike tag at the tip of the tongue follows the curvature of the tongue and is laid to one side. The white midsole looks good on the colored shoe upper. The outsole is black. The inner lining is also black.

The neon yellow has a grey colored toe box. All other features are identical to its neon orange counterpart.

Poke Dunk High

JBF used a customer’s personal design to create his latest pair of Nike Dunk Highs. These custom Dunks were created awhile ago but JBF has been too busy with other projects to post the Poke Dunk Highs. I found JBF’s Dunks at the Nike Talk post linked here.

The designer used a red/black colorway with gold heels to create a rich look. The gold heels match the gold bear outline drawn on both shoes. The bear has small blue eyes and a golden paw reaching up to his mouth. This expression may indicate surprise or a polite afterthought during a midday meal; either way, JBF did a great job conveying the playfulness of this cute character.

While JBF’s client gave the designer a clear image to recreate, JBF did an awesome job producing clean sneaker art. He has indicated that he is willing to do additional customs for readers who email blaise28@gmail.com. I would get in touch right away if you want to reserve some time with JBF as I imagine his schedule will fill up quickly.

Nike Air Jordan 23 Quickstrike Pack

Source of image: here.

This is the latest Nike Air Jordan 23 Quickstrike Pack. It comes in 3 colorways. This pack of basketball shoes will be sold from this weekend onwards at Concepts Boston. The 3 colorways are white/navy, white/light blue and white/red.

Let’s look at the white/navy colorway. The midsection has a background in black, and is covered by a weaving pattern in navy blue lattice and white lattice. They look like strands of twisted threads. The navy blue coordinates with the same color in the midsole and mudguard, which are in shiny material. The midsole under the heel has a special design to show the reflection of light and it gives the special effect like a “cut stone.” The front of the midsole is tri-colored and looks very nice. This tri-color theme follows the same theme at the midsection of the upper. The collar at the ankle of the shoe is white and is a good, stark contrast. The toe box and tongue are in white and sets off nicely against the colored midsection. The tongue has perforations to create detail.

The other two colorways have the same features except for their colors. The light blue/ white and red/ white shoes look good. I think the weave pattern at the midsection is the highlight that sets the good look for the shoe.

Scooby Doo Dunks

In preparation of his upcoming Scooby Doo Dunks, D@ Prince Customs has posted the first version of the shoes at the Nike Talk thread linked here. The designer has been busy in recent months with customs based on other cartoons including Winnie the Pooh and Dora the Explorer. His sophomore approach with Scooby Doo imagery is going to need to be extraordinary to surpass what he has done with these Dunks.

The left shoe is painted with the words Scooby Doo in purple and orange lettering similar to the opening sequence of the cartoon. The right shoe shows Scooby in action, looking back with fear as a ghost or zombie chases the gang. D@ Prince Customs added his crown logo behind Scooby’s image while writing out D@ Prince Customs on the left heel.

My favorite part of the original Scooby Doo Dunks was the “SD” lace lock designed to look like Scooby’s collar tag. I will write with an update once D@ Prince has made his second version of the shoes but his skills are pretty clear with these custom Dunks.

Nike Air Max 90 Moire Spring/Summer 2009

Source of image: here.

This Nike Air Max 90 Moire is the newest model that is part of the Nike Sportswear Spring/ Summer 2009 collection. The Air Max 90 is fused with the Moire. This model comes in two colorways; the black and grey. These shoes are sold at Nike Sportswear.

Let’s examine the grey colorway first. This shoe has no real mudguard as the shoe is level without the raised sections of mudguards. The toe box and upper are fused into one. There are neatly spaced perforations all over the shoe upper. The tongue also has perforations. The shoe lace is of the same color as the upper. The inner lining is white. The midsole is thick and houses the air max technology at the heel. There is some effort to include a design on the midsole by using corrugated lines. The outsole is set with deep treads to enable the user to get firm footing.

The black colorway is identical in nature to its partner. These two colorways are solid models of the shoes. I like the black sneaker more for it looks more sophisticated.

Sekure D x Globe Mace Hi

Sekure D has collaborated with sneaker and clothing company Globe on a pair of custom shoes to be released on December 1st. The designer used the company’s Mace Hi model as the backdrop for yet another fantastic venture in sneaker art. I found these photos on Sekure D’s blog linked here.

Much like the Scribble Air Force Ones I highlighted a few days ago, Sekure D starts with a red/black colorway. His design is much harder and more realistic than the Scribbles with black spray points, gray tones on the middle panel and collar and thicker lines moving freely from panel to panel.

Sekure D and Globe plan to unveil additional pictures after December 1st but the initial photos look great. The company is planning to sell the Sekure D Mace Hi at Globe outlets throughout the world. Check out the Globe website linked here next Monday if you are interested in purchasing these hot Globe Maces.

Nike ACG Pendleton collection

Source of image: here.

The Nike ACG Pendleton collection is available and sold at Concepts website. This collection contains a Nike ACG Blazer Hi, a Nike ACG Jacket, Nike ACG backpack and Nike ACG boots. All items use Pendleton wool. Nike and ACG Pendleton collaborated to design this comprehensive pack for every sports person.

Let’s look at the Nike ACG Pendleton Blazer Hi shoe. The shoe uses black leather and Pendleton wool. The toe box, tongue, swoosh, midsole and outsole are black. The midsection has the colorful graphics of Pendleton wool. It is a nice, cheerful looking shoe for the winter holiday season.

Next, we’ll look at the Nike ACG Pendleton boot. The main body of the boot is in wool. The thigh high collar is in Pendleton wool. The midsole and outsole are stitched together in a weave. The purple accents are in the small Nike swoosh and outlining boundary around the midsole.

The Jacket looks very good with a cream colored outer and Pendleton wool interior. Half the sleeve is in cream material while the rest is in the wool fabric.

The backpack looks excellent. The combination of Pendleton wool and black is good. This will be a nice accessory to use to pack all the necessities to accompany one on a day trip.

Blue/Gray Woven Air Max Ones

JWDANKLEFS presented his latest customs, a pair of blue/gray Air Max Ones, in the NikeTalk post linked here. The plain white Air Max Ones are shown below this post to contrast against the work done by the designer.

By looking at the original colorway of these shoes, you can see that JWDANKLEFS did not go overboard with his work. His gray middle panel and heel are understated but work well with the glossy blue paint wrapping around the toe box. While comments on NikeTalk were critical of the shine coming off the blue paint, I think the glossy effect adds some flavor to these shoes.

Another element of the designer’s work is the addition of blue paint to the tongue. The original tongue has a shiny silver effect over white Nike lettering. JWDANKLEFS completed these sneakers by filling in the white letters with blue paint. We take the blue lettering for granted but it shows the designer’s vision that he thought to match the tongue with the rest of the sneaker.

Nike “Made For Skate” Blazer SB

Source of image: here.

This Nike “Made For Skate” Blazer SB is a special shoe. It was designed for the “Made For Skate” event that is planned in Damski, in Netherlands, on November 30. This event is organized by Nike SB. There is a team of staff from the company called Ben G, who will be hosting the Pop-Up Store for the event. The company of Ben G has worked with Nike on a special project called “Made For Skate” and they have used the Nike Blazer SB shoe. This collaborated effort drew inspiration from one of the first sneakers designed for skateboarding.

For residents of Damski, Netherlands, there will be 24 pairs of this Nike “Made For Skate” to be sold at the Pop-Up Store at the venue.

This Nike shoe comes in a blue colorway with yellow accents. The toe box is protected by a blue leather mudguard. The yellow tongue provides a bright background for the yellow shoe laces. The tag in blue and yellow gives a nice touch to the design. The back tab has a large piece of the logo, “Made For Skate” and this is nicely framed in a box outlined by red and yellow. The striped lines below the tab also use yellow and red colors and the look coordinates well.

Nike Air Force 1 Supreme “Cavaliers”

Nike Air Force 1 Supreme Cavaliers - #1

Another shoe for LeBron James looks to be on the horizon. These Air Force 1’s feature a Cleveland Cavaliers colorway with a white upper complemented with a perforated pattern on the toebox and side panels.

This clean makeup offers red wine leather insole and lining and a LBJ23 logo on the heel. Another highlight of these shoes is the visible heel unit seen through the translucent midsole. There’s no word when these kicks will be released just yet. Via Kenlu, lobster *n* shrimp

nonnative x New Balance 1700 Model

nonnative x New Balance 1700 Model - #1

Japanese label nonnative has hooked up with New Balance again. This time, they worked on the classic 1700 model.

Using suede uppers with lots of perforations, these shoes have a very minimalistic approach. There is contrast color on the heel and around the ankle, with white used on the midsole, laces and other details.

If you are looking for a warm looking pair of sneakers for winter, these are a good choice. The sneakers are expected to release in December 2008 at select retailers including Vendor and Tokishirazu. Via Hypebeast.

Nike Zoom Lebron VI – Big Apple

Lebron James definitely has a thing for New York and it’s evident by looking at the latest Zoom Lebron VI. First was the Graffiti Zoom IV, then the Yankees Zoom V and now and certainly the most impressing the Big Apple Zoom VI. I don’t know if it’s the color way, the materials or the speckled midsole but these are the definition of Eye Candy. The smooth red premium leather upper is accented by red patent leather that was placed in all the right places. The grey speckled midsole (done to perfection) has to be one of the dopest things about these kicks.

Still not convinced? Well tune in to today (November 25) to get your sneak peak, Lebron will be wearing these as the Cavaliers take their first trip of the season to Madison Square Garden. These will release Black Friday November 28, at Niketown and the Harlem House of Hoops and retail for a steal price $140. Hope that doesn’t put too much of a damper on your plans.

Hypethetic Onitsuka Tigers

Hypethetic promoted his latest custom Onitsuka Tigers at the Customsnkr.com blog linked here. The Onitsuka Tiger is a favorite of college students and young professionals worldwide who like a stylish, lightweight pair of sneakers. These sneakers were designed for versatility and flash, both measures achieved successfully by Hypethetic.

I am fond of Hypethetic’s use of a detachable lace cover shown in the picture below. The lace cover has a colorful design that looks like a Magic Eye poster from a distance. This pattern is continued on the rest of the shoe with Hypethetic fading colors from purple to yellow and back.

While the colorful design by Hypethetic may seem disorienting, I like the different elements used by the designer to enhance these Onitsuka Tigers. The brightly colored stripes on the side vary from neon green to bright orange to stand out against the rapidly changing spectrum. Hypethetic added his logo to the heel tag though it is difficult to think of another artist who is bolder with color than this veteran designer.

Air Jordan 1 Mid “Quai54” EU Exclusive

As part of their partnership with European Quai54 Basketball Tournament, Jordan Brand has cooked up these Euro exclusive Mids. This is the first time the Jordan 1 has been seen a mid cut model. This first timer makes its appearance on the sence in a white – black color way, almost identical to that of the CDP 1. So similar in fact the differences are almost unnoticeable. The Quai54’s sport the same team logo seen on the Oylmpic 1s near the back side of the shoe. No word on pricing or availibity as of yet.
