Hectic x Stussy x New Balance CM670 – Part 2

Hectic x Stussy x New Balance CM670 - Part 2 - #1

Back in February, Hectic and Stussy collaborated with New Balance on the CM670 in two colorways. These shoes were very well received back then when we told you about them.

Now here’s Part 2, this time with this steel grey version. This shoe features the signature C-Cap cushioning midsole. The grey suede and mesh sneaker can be had in two alternate colorways. One using teal accents and the other one using purple. The accent colors are used in the inner lining, as well as on the heel collar. The colors are nice and very muted. So, if you are looking for a shoe that isn’t too wild, these are a nice option.

These shoes are available now beginning today at Stussy stores in Japan and the realmad Hectic flagship store in Toyko. They are priced at about $150 USD.

Nike Air Max Light – Green Stripes

Nike Air Max Light - Green Stripes

This shoe is sold at Haven for USD120 per pair.

This Nike Air Max Light has a white toe box. At the start of the shoe lace region, there is a strip of grey leather and it extends to the tongue. The tip of the tongue has a tip with a tab. The label here has a green Nike word on a blue background. The grey leather extends out from the tongue and it crosses the midsection of the shoe. In front of this grey strip, there is a panel of black colored leather. There are corrugated lines on this black leather.

The shoe’s midsection is covered in a panel of green and blue colored horizontal stripes. The Nike swoosh is white in color. This shoe is quite colorful in its use of subtle colors. The black and white colors feature prominently. The shoe’s inner lining is white. The white midsole helps the sneaker to look clean and classy.

The back stab of the shoe is a large piece of green reptile leather. There is an elaborately embroidered Nike logo. The blue and green theme is repeated here.

The design of the shoe allows the front view to show the white section of the toe box prominently. It looks to be a dull shoe until you see the side view. The thick midsole has a visible air unit. The white Nike swoosh on the midsection slopes and coordinates with the white midsole and toe box of the shoe.

Grossmaul Nike Air Max Ones

grossmaul.jpg

Pats83 has created a slew of new custom Nikes that are available through his website and MySpace page. The best of the bunch in my opinion is the Grossmaul which is pictured in this post. The Grossmaul is a customized pair of Air Max Ones with subtlety and craftsmanship that are desired by many sneaker fans.

The designer left the black/white colorway on these Air Max Ones as a solid background for the shoe’s maple leaf design. Pats83 wasn’t trying to bludgeon sneaker fans with the dark blue maple leafs which is obvious with his use of a lighter blue background. It is a smart move by Pats83 because it forces sneaker fans to take several looks at these shoes before making judgements.

The remainder of Pats83’s new customs exhibit the designer’s steady touch and balanced design aesthetic. I love when designers opt for stylish but subtle designs over flashy aesthetics and the Grossmaul fits that criterion.

Nike Air Structure Triax ‘91- Two New Color-ways

Till this point, Nike’s Air Structure has only been getting limited coverage due to its limited color-ways. However, new pictures of two color-ways have just hit the internet. The first style seen consists of black, old royal, cayman, and neutral grey. The color-ways chosen for the Air Structure have been for the most part simple and subtle, this is just another combination that is very fitting. Next, is what has been labeled the Holiday ‘08 Air Structure. Featured, is a combination of white, pink and purple, a release that might be Europe only. Whatever, it may be just stay posted. Nike Airstab Premium – Runnin’ Gunnin’

Nike Airstab Premium - Runnin’ Gunnin’, side view

Nike has released a new Airstab Premium Quickstrike. It is sold at Major DC.

This shoe has a black and magenta colorway. The toe box and main body of the shoe is in black mesh. The toe box has a cap of black leather in cackle print. The lines of the print are in dark black, and set against the background of lighter black.

The shoe lace region is pink. Its shoe lace is in matching pink and has black spots. The portion of the ankle is pink and so is a small section of the midsole. The heel has an area that has black background and pink spots. I think the black and pink combination is good.

Over the heel, there is a large section of the cackle print leather. I think it is a nice feature to end the shoe with the same material that was used in the front. It gives a balanced look to the sneaker.

The outsole has a nice graphic. Both the left and right outsoles have an apple each. The worm in the picture says, “Out of sight, out of mind.” The lower half of the outsole is black, with a zig-zag pattern on the treads.

At the heel, a black patch of back stab has the embroidered words, “Runnin’ Gunnin.’” The threads used are pink and orange in color. I like the creative graphic on the outsole the best of all.

Neptune Dunk Lows

sekured.jpg

The custom Nike Dunks shown in this post are one-offs created by Sekure D. This customizer took a pair of size 10.5 Dunks and turned them into an other-worldly experience. These shoes were posted on Sekure D’s website in mid-May and are still available as of May 27th, 2008.

Sekure D channeled the work of graffiti artist Aeon to create a shoe that blends a colorful palette with an urban aesthetic. The animated gray and blue shapes added behind the Nike swoosh look like they belong in a modern graphic novel. The black paint used along the shoe’s collar and swoosh drips downward to the outsole to create a “living” look to the Neptune Dunks. There are additional black spots throughout the shoe that provide accent pieces on the upper without disturbing the overall look.

I love everything about the Neptune Dunks and I hope that some lucky reader heads to Sekure D’s website to pick up these shoes. If you don’t wear size 10.5 shoes, think about jamming your feet in these stylish shoes or filling the empty spaces with a roll of socks. These sneakers are too hot to set on someone’s shelf as an art piece.
